The officers of the 614th take a moment for a photo, while together for dinner. This photo is also believed to be from their time in Innsbruck. Sitting in center is the unit's commander, Lt. Col. Frank S. Pritchard, who was with the unit from October 1943, until November of 1945.
The 614th received a written commendation from Headquarters VI Corps and Major General Anthony C. McAuliffe, for their performance in a parade held on May 9, 1945, in Innsbruck, Austria. The letter is dated the next day (10th) and identifies that at the time, McAuliffe was the commanding officer of the 103rd Infantry Division, to which the 614th was attached. In addition to the 614th, the 824th Tank Destroyer Battalion, the 781st Tank Battalion and the 83rd Chemical Mortar Battalion were also cited.
