Unit History:  Formed on December 15, 1941, at Fort McClellan, AL as a Light Towed Battalion.  Shipped from San Francisco Port of embarkation on Jun. 23, 1942 and landed Hawaii on Jul. 5, 1942.   Functioned as provisional Quartermaster Battalion from Jan. 7, 1945 and turned in all equipment on Jan. 15, 1945.  Deactivated on April 10, 1945, in Hawaii.

4.) Recon. Platoon Group Photo – A group photo of Lt. Jack Stege (sitting front left)and the Reconnaissance Platoon he commanded. The photo was taken at Hilo, Hawaii, sometime between May 24, 1943, when he arrived in Hawaii and August 25th, when he was reassigned to C company.
