4th Signal Battalion - Company C History

It wasn't unusual for soldiers to transfer from one unit to another due to a special skill or because they were separated from their unit for one reason or another.  At the end of the war, many men were transferred home if they had enough points to do so.  I have no information regarding why Waldo "Walt" Campbell transferred into the 6th TD Group but I know that he spent most of the war serving with the 4th Signal Battalion.  The 4th Signal Battalion served it's entire time in Europe attached to the Ninth Army and are listed prominently in the Ninth Army's History - Conquer.  The following sections of the 4th Signal Battalion History were provided courtesy of the Campbell family.  Walt's photo shows up on page 28 of the first section.
