Unit History:  Unit was activated at Camp Hood, TX on Jun. 12, 1943 and attached to XXIII Corps on Feb. 18, 1944.  The unit moved to Camp Myles Standish, MA on Sep. 26, 1944 to prepare for shipment.  They shipped from the Boston Port of Embarkation on Oct. 11, 1944 and arrived in England on Oct. 18, 1944.  They then shipped to France, landing on Oct. 21, 1944.  The unit moved into Belgium on Nov. 26, 1944 and then into Germany on Mar. 10, 1945.  The unit shipped back to the U.S. arriving in New York on Jul. 1, 1945.  From there it was on to Fort Bragg, NC on Jul. 4, 1945 where they were deactivated on Oct. 26, 1945.  Attached/Supported: First Army and XXIII Corps. Information gathered from WWII Order of Battle by Shelby L.
