Unit History:  Activated on June 1, 1942 at Camp Chaffee, AR as a Heavy Self-Propelled unit. Shipped from San Francisco port of embarkation on Mar. 15, 1944 and landed in Hawaii on Mar. 21, 1944.  Landed Palau on Feb. 1, 1945.
